By applying for a grant, you agreed to the following conditions:
Your event must be STEM-related and fall within British Science Week dates.
You must complete an online organiser evaluation survey (provided by the British Science Association) after British Science Week.
You must distribute a short feedback form (provided by the British Science Association) to your event participants and return these forms to British Science Association after the event.
British Science Week, UKRI and the British Science Association must be correctly acknowledged in any press releases (please contact the British Science Association for additional information).
The British Science Week logo must be used on any marketing materials produced, either in print or online. Downloadable logos can be found here.
If for whatever reason you are not able to run an event within British Science Week 2025, the grant money will have to be returned to the British Science Association. For these reasons, please ensure you have contingency plans in the case of health and safety restrictions or partial school closure.
If the feedback forms and organisers survey are not completed and returned to us or if your event differs greatly to the event specified in your application, the British Science Association reserves the right to ask for the funding to be returned.

As a Kick Start Grant recipient you also receive a voucher code for up to £350 worth of CREST Awards. That’s enough to recognise and reward a whole year group in many secondary schools, or even a whole primary school!
If you have been successful in receiving a Kick Start Grant, you will have been sent an email including this voucher code – can’t find it? Let us know by emailing bsw@britishscienceassociation.org
Including CREST in your British Science Week plans can be a great way to extend your students’ learning and help them think and behave like scientists and engineers. Once students complete CREST projects, they are recognised with CREST Awards certificates from the British Science Association. For suitable project ideas and inspiration to include in your plans, check out the free CREST resource library.
Your voucher doesn’t expire until 31 July 2025, so you can use it any time this academic year!
To redeem your free CREST Awards you should:
1.Choose which awards you want to run and with which students. You may find the following helpful:
The CREST resource library, full of free resources and project ideas
Recordings on Getting started with CREST webinars, for primary or for secondary
2. Run the awards with your students, this could be in lessons or as an extra-curricular activity
3. Create an account in the CREST platform, apply for your awards and enter your voucher code when prompted
For Star, Superstar and Discovery Awards (Primary) you can alternatively order your certificates in advance!
Sharing your feedback about the Kick Start Grant helps us the British Science Association tailor our products and support to best suit educators and young people most likely to be underrepresented in STEM. That's why a condition of your Kick Start Grant is that after British Science Week and before 31 March 2025 you will need to complete the following feedback forms:

*The ages given on the surveys are a guideline and you should choose the surveys most appropriate for your students.
