By applying for an Engage Grant, you have agreed to the following conditions.
The funding must be used for costs associated with projects/activities which enable young people to work toward CREST Awards.
The students’ CREST Awards must be submitted before the end of the academic year (31 July 2025).
You must complete two online organiser evaluation surveys (provided by the BSA); one before and one after completing the CREST Awards and contribute to additional grant programme evaluation such as participating in a focus group.
You must distribute two short feedback forms (provided by the BSA) to the pupil participants, before and after completing the CREST Awards, and return these forms to BSA before the end of the academic year (31 July 2025)
If for whatever reason you are not able to run the CREST Award activities within the 2024/2025 academic year, the grant money will have to be returned to the British Science Association. For these reasons, please ensure you have contingency plans in the case of health and safety restrictions or partial school closure.
If the feedback forms and organisers survey are not completed and returned to us or if your activities differ greatly to those specified in your application, the British Science Association reserves the right to ask for the funding to be returned.

By applying for Engage Simply CREST support, you are agreeing to the following conditions.

As a recipient for Engage funding you receive a voucher code for up to £350 worth of CREST Awards. That’s enough to recognise and reward a whole year group in many secondary schools, or even a whole primary school!
You will have been sent an email including this voucher code after your application was approved – can’t find it? Let us know by emailing crest@britishscienceassociation.org
Your voucher doesn’t expire until 31 July 2025, so you can use it any time this academic year.
To claim your students' CREST Awards and receive their CREST Award certificates, once you have run your projects* you should:
Create an account in the CREST platform.
Apply for your awards, see detailed instructions on how to do this here.
Enter your voucher code when prompted.
*For Star, Superstar and Discovery Awards (Primary) you can alternatively order your certificates in advance!
Please note that Certificates can take up to 4 weeks to be delivered.
Sharing your feedback about CREST and the Engage funding helps us at the British Science Association tailor our products and support to best suit educators and young people most likely to be underrepresented in STEM.
That's why, as condition of the funding, we ask that you complete questionnaires about your CREST experiences.
This year, only you as the organising teacher need to complete a questionnaire, not your pupils.
